I had a chance to work with HAYA and take some photos backstage. This is DaiQing Tana, the wonderful lead singer. The photo was taken outside so I found a place out of
the sun and looked for the least cluttered background I could find. I suggested the pose with her hands against the column. A 70-200mm lens set to 70mm on a cropped sensor
camera gave me the same field of view as a 112mm lens on a 35mm film camera or a full frame digital camera (see field of view crop)
. For a tight head shot, a short telephoto focal length provides a nice perspective. An aperture of f/8 provided enough depth of field for her face while softening the
background.Exposure Data: Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f/4 L IS lens at 70mm, f/8, 1/60 second, ISO 100. If you have a chance to hear HAYA, don't miss them. They sing Mongolian
World Music and use traditional and modern instruments. You can find them at www.youtube.com. Another photo of DaiQing Tana is here. June 16, 2010 |
